Mr. Sean Bentz
Welcome students and parents!

It's an amazing start of the 2010/11 school year!  I am so pleased you are here to learn in OUR new enchanted classroom, “North Shore.”

“North Shore” is inspired by the calm and relaxing feeling of the surf and beach. OUR room is a destination for learning. The colors were selected based on the theme and colors to inspire learning and creativity.

The computer courses are project-oriented, hands-on courses designed to introduce six to eleventh graders to the various components of computer literacy and to build upon the computer literacy skills acquired during other grades.

ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards for Students (2007) are the standards we are using to prepare students to work, live, and contribute to the social and civic fabric of their communities.

The ultimate goal of this course is to ensure students understand the computer is to be used as a tool to accelerate learning, communication and productivity.  Students will enhance keyboarding skills to reach 25 words per minute with 95% accuracy.

The study of computers is accomplished through a higher-level use of Microsoft’s suite of software tools, the learning of basic technical terminology, individual and group discussions culminating in projects involving word processing, database and spreadsheet, and illustrated through a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Students will also learn basic html, web design using Dreamweaver and graphic design using Adobe Photoshop.  Students acquire these concepts individually and cooperatively through group work.
